It is located at 59 Guxin Road, Kulangsu Island, and is now a major cultural heritage site protected at the national level. It should be constructed no later than 1927. It is a simple two-storey veranda-style building made of concrete and brick, with a floor area of 970 square metres. The walls are faced with red bricks laid in English bond, forming a sense of wall decoration. This building is still in a good state of preservation. Together with the adjacent Former Staff Cottage, it gives an insight into the life of the staff of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, and also presents a kind of snapshot of the expatriate lifestyle on Kulangsu. It is now used as a place for museum cultural creativity and social education.
