Longwangtou Beach is located within Haitan Bay National Ocean Park in the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone. It’s only 1.5 kilometers from the urban area. With “flat and long beach, fine white sand, warm and clean water, and gentle waves”, it has become an ideal summer resort for tourists. It’s also one of the largest bathing beaches in China and is reputed to be the best in Asia. It can accommodate up to 100,000 tourists at the same time.

Thanks to its own unique charm and close distance to the Huandao Road and the county seat, Longwangtou has been the venue of various major sports competitions embodying coastal features, such as International Kite-surfing Competition, National Beach Volley, open sea swimming contests, and so on. On December 3, 2015, 115 Miss World winners descended on this beach to endorse Pingtan International Tourism Island.
